Abacus Flooring is a highly professional team of timber floor sanders and polishers based in Sydney.
They service the Sydney, North Shore and Northern Beaches regions of NSW. Established in 1992, Abacus Flooring has been working in the trade for over 28 years.
The problem for Abacus Flooring is they were operating within a highly competitive market. There were a wide range of businesses offering a similar service offering of floor polishing and sanding operating across the highly competitive Sydney market.
Abacus needed to get to the first page of search results and achieve high positioning to get on top of the competition and in front of customer’s searching for services Abacus were providing.
Abacus Flooring needed to increase their website’s visibility across the Google Search Network. This would allow them to compete in the highly competitive market for customers across the Sydney, North Shore and Northern Beaches search regions.
They were looking for a dedicated SEO consultant and Google Ads team who would take the time to not only improve rankings but offer comprehensive communication for the SEO and PPC campaigns.

Abacus Flooring enlisted Blackbox’s team of dedicated SEO consultants to work on their SEO campaign and received a dedicated SEO account manager who made regular weekly contact with the Abacus contact point.
The team set to work on optimising the website for SEO technical aspects as well as utilised their web design skills to improve navigation. Blackbox’s SEO experts worked hard to gain traction for specific areas of Sydney by optimising through content marketing strategies for location based keywords.
Abacus Flooring became a long term dedicated customer of the team at Blackbox and have now been working with our SEO Account Managers for over 5 years.
The Google Ads campaign was reviewed thoroughly by the Blackbox SEM consultants, and optimisation efforts began. We worked hard over the 3 year period of managing the account with MoM optimisation to achieve increased growth and enhance the level of Paid traffic through to the website from PPC channels.
The SEO Campaign increased Organic traffic by 270% in the first 6 month period of 2020 throughout the Coivd-19 pandemic. Organic sessions increased by a huge 380% YoY comparing the results from September 2020 and September 2019.
Blackbox’s SEM experts were able to increase the Google Ads impression share for targeted keywords from 31% up to a high 60% for targeted keywords YoY. However, increasing the impression share didn’t come at a higher cost.
Our PPC consultants optimised the account and were able to bring the Average Cost Per Click down which allowed for a higher volume of clicks and Paid traffic through to the website at an overall lower spend.
